Save money on extras
Unfortunately, the cost of an automatic fall detection system isn’t always what it appears to be on the website. Instead, some medical alert systems pile on the fees, which makes purchasing a system much more expensive than you thought.
Instead of slamming you with additional fees, Medical Guardian offers tons of ways for you to save money that include:
- No equipment fees
- Free shipping and handling
- No activation fees
- No need to sign a long-term contract
- Free lockbox when you sign up for the annual plan
- Free month of service when you sign up for the annual plan
When you choose Medical Guardian, you can rest assured that your first monthly bill will be the same as future monthly bills because you don’t have to pay all those extra fees!
- Buying experience
Medical Guardian’s fall detection system is a smooth purchase, which makes the buying experience simple. The easiest way to purchase your system is to sign up for service on their website. They have a dedicated tab at the top of the page that breaks down each plan so you can make an informed purchasing decision. You can also make a purchase directly from their product pages.
The option of calling a customer service representative is always available, but what makes Medical Guardian stand apart from other medical alert system companies is that they offer a convenient online chat option. Simply visit their website and you can chat with a customer service representative on the computer!
Want to ask a quick question before you head out the door for the day? You can check the Medical Guardian FAQ page to see if your question is answered there. If not, you can always send them a message and they’ll get back to you via email.
In order to get fall detection, Medical Guardian encourages you to choose their Premium Guardian system with the fall detection. It comes with a high-tech base unit device that is GPS enabled (supported by A&T’s solid wireless network) and can be taken with you wherever you go, inside or outside the home! It is meant to be lightweight and compact, so it can be easily worn around the neck as a pendant. See picture of Florence Henderson below.
The device includes a speaker and microphone, which also makes it easy to listen to and speak with monitoring center agents in case of emergencies.
The device must be placed on the charging station about once per day and can hold a 36 hour charge, which is longer than Medical Guardian’s Mobile Guardian, which only holds a 24 hour charge.
NOTE: If you are looking for fall alert protection for inside the home only, Medical Guardian also offers an optional add-on to their Home Guardian plan where your pendant can have fall detection technology built into it.
Setting up the Premium Guardian system is very easy. Simply plug the charging station into the wall and place the base unit device in the charging station dock. There’s no need to plug the system into the landline since it utilizes a cellular network.
- Pricing and value
As with most other medical alert systems, you’ll save more if you’re willing to commit to an annual plan. The Premium Guardian system is Medical Guardian’s most expensive plan, coming in at $45.79 per month. However, that price doesn’t include fall detection. With the fall alert detection enhancement, you’ll end up paying $55.79 a month. Prices are more expensive if you choose the quarterly or monthly plan. With fall detection, they will cost you $59.95.
Although this may seem a bit expensive, it’s important to note that Medical Guardian offers a lot of free accessories and services with their plan. Unlike other medical alert system companies, Medical Guardian does not charge any equipment fees, there are never any setup or activation fees, and shipping and handling is always free. If you commit to an annual plan, you will receive a free lockbox and a free month of service.
Choosing a fall detection system means that emergency responders will be notified when a fall is detected. This is important because you may not be able to push your emergency button if you fall. If you aren’t able to respond, emergency personnel will automatically be sent to your location. Because the fall alert pendant is also GPS enabled, emergency personnel will be able to find you, no matter where you’re located.
Of course, Medical Guardian’s Premium Guardian with fall protection still offers all of the traditional services that a medical alert system has to offer. You can push the button at any time and be connected to a CSAA Five Diamond Certified and trained emergency responder who has immediate access to your emergency medical file. However, you can also ask an emergency responder to call a friend or family member, if the situation doesn’t require a medical professional.
Although Medical Guardian’s Premium Guardian with fall detection is one of the most expensive units available, it’s also one of the most dependable. With all of Medical Guardian’s discounts and the fact that the GPS unit is battery operated, water resistant, and small enough to wear comfortably, this plan is an attractive option.
